Key Jammies…..
Diane is our president who has the fun task of cajoling other members to take part in the zany ideas she comes up with for our different WI evenings. She is a mum of two children, and works as a Learning Support at a local school and doing the odd bit of invigilating. She has recently discovered Pilates and wished she had started sooner!
Ruth is our French-speaking, proofreading secretary, who often talks to herself because nobody answers back. When she’s not teaching French to primary-school children, she likes to relax with a cup of tea and some embroidery or spend time with her husband, student daughter and teenage son but finds it hard to turn off her laptop so don’t be surprised if you receive emails after midnight.
Being a self-employed book keeper, the post of Jam Free treasurer was inevitably going to have Jane’s name on it. Aside from taking a couple of weekly exercise classes, she is also kept active by daily walks with her lively springer spaniel. She has two grown up daughters, one of whom lives in Scotland and the other who splits her time between France & the UK but who is also a member of Jam Free.
Maggi has secret skills in persuading her vast network of friends and acquaintances to come and talk to Jam Free about their various interests. Nobody knows where she acquired these skills, but we’re afraid to ask, as rumour has it that she has an extensive collection of red carnations and copies of the Financial Times and often asks if the goose flies at midnight.
